As I reflect on the completion of my 18th year at MacroPlan, I must say Christmas 2016 has crept up quickly!
Feedback from our colleagues across the industry, confirms that it has been a busy and productive year for most sectors.
Growth was a key theme across the MacroPlan business this year, with many new faces and the recent addition of our project management team. Within 12 months, we have witnessed staff numbers double in our Sydney Office, a testament to the strength of our brand and expertise in the local market. There are further exciting staff appointments planned for 2017 – stay tuned for these announcements in the new year.
Technology has also been a focus for the company in 2016. Quite a number of new initiatives have been implemented or are currently in development for release in 2017. The team have continued to drive innovation in this space through product development, analysis tools and digital client based solutions. Our focus on technology has been spearheaded by MacroPlan’s Chairman, Brian Haratsis, who this year became a board member of the Australian Driverless Vehicle Initiative (ADVI).
Collaboration has been, and will continue to be fundamental to our success. As many of our clients and colleagues know, MacroPlan has a national footprint, allowing staff to work across boarders with interstate team-member on projects where their skill set is most aligned. Collaboration with industry colleagues on the education of the latest trends, insights, best practise methods and development innovations has been especially rewarding and mutually beneficial. A huge thank you to our suppliers, who are constantly finding new ways to help us improve our business practice so that we can continue to deliver the best outcomes and solutions for our clients.
I am incredibly proud to lead the team at MacroPlan, a team that has worked extremely hard this year, which is evidenced by us continuing to achieve 70% repeat engagement. Our clients have continued to utilise MacroPlan services on major property portfolio reviews, town planning approvals and economic analysis (plus so much more).
It has been extremely gratifying to support and provide expert advice to the private sector and state and local government; in the development of industry leading policy and strategic planning documents. On behalf of the entire team, we look forward to working with you in 2017 and beyond.
After a lively but satisfying year, I’m looking forward to a well-deserved celebration with my family and friends, and wish you a special time with those close to you.
On behalf of the entire MacroPlan team, Merry Christmas – Happy New Year, and I hope you can join us early in 2017 as we launch our Capital City Outlook seminars.
With my good wishes,by
