Location: Kingsway, Glen Waverley (VIC)
Brief: MacroPlan was engaged by Consolidated Properties to obtain planning approvals for the redevelopment of this site for a new 10 storey, mixed use development. The approvals that were required included site specific planning scheme amendments, the planning permit for the redevelopment and subsequent amendments.
Methodology: MacroPlan worked with Consolidated Properties, the City of Monash and a number of interested State Government departments to ensure that the planning provisions applied to the site were appropriate and that planning approval for the development were fast-tracked to meet project deadlines.
Result: The development is now complete and fully tenanted. All apartments were sold prior to the official launch of the project, prior to construction commencing, and all retail and commercial floorspace were taken up soon after. The project was the recipient of an award from the Planning Institute of Australia (PIA) in the category of ‘from Plan to Place’, as an exemplar transit-oriented project that has transformed the Glen Waverley Activity Centre.
