Temple Site Investigation: Planning Review

Project name:  Temple Site Investigation: Planning Review

Location:  Greater Brisbane (QLD)

Brief:  MacroPlan provided an assessment of the relevant planning provisions for six sites across Brisbane that could potentially support a place of worship (temple) on-site.

All state and local planning provisions were investigated. This included but was not limited to flooding and zoning constraints, local area planning, koala conservation and native vegetation requirements.

Result:  The analysis identified a number of constraints that narrowed the short-list to 2 locations.

In determining the preferred site, infrastructure charges were a notable factor. It was found that existing improvements to the site such as a dwelling/structure involved less infrastructure charges compared to a site that is vacant, requiring development from scratch.
